Intervention Project
The topic I chose is Nutrition. Although it is true, today many of us tend to eat a diet that is not so adequate, this is because we believe that healthy food is expensive and does not taste good and many even think that it is just about eating salads when in reality it is not true. During the global pandemic "COVID-19" and the confinement that many of us had to go through, we were forced to find ourselves, to analyze and raise awareness of who we really are, what our fears are, and many even found their creative sides. Personally, on the days when I stayed at home for quarantine, I focused a lot on improving my eating habits, however, due to the bad information I had about a "healthy life" I went through a stage of pre-bulimia and lost a lot of weight and became look very exhausted. Over time I had the opportunity to watch many videos and read many articles that helped me gain knowledge about what proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, etc. really are. I also understood how a dish has to look to be healthy and complete, how terribly bad some foods can be, and the significant importance of drinking plenty of water. I would like to live in a world where people last many more years of life thanks to the good nutrition they have, I would like that with my own story many of my NJCU community can be inspired to eat better. "The cultural symbols, stories, characters, and images that already exist in the world can inspire and be mobilized in the service of artistic activism in order to change that world." On the weekend I cooked some healthy muffins made of autumn leaves because we are already entering to Fall🍂, they do not have many ingredients, they are not expensive, and they are easy to make. Also, I made healthy muffin recipe flyers that I posted in public places around the university and that I also distributed. I did this so that many like me can try this recipe and realize that eating healthy is not about eating things that don't taste good or eating only vegetables and fruits. In the Sparking Conversation with Socially Conscious Nail Art video, Ami Vega says a phrase that is very true “As a woman, sometimes we're made to be a bit more submissive, and this is a way of kind of getting strength in our messages”, I want to leave a message to my NJCU community and be a motivator for many people to modify their dietary habits.
This is a picture of me handing out some flyers to NJCU students.
I put a copy of the cover of my flyers in different places of the university buildings.
