Q1- "Creativity isn’t a product, it’s a process. It’s a process that helps us to notice new objects and events, make new connections, and see the world in different ways.. creativity is a process that all of us can use to become artistic activists."
Response- Creativity is essential to the becoming an artistic activist. Creativity sparks new ideas and connections that can inspire the work you wanna do/create. When it comes to inhabiting creativity, its not about obtaining something or focusing on your final product. It's about embracing the process that helps you gain new finds.
Q2- "Physical and mental space is key for creativity. A space away from the ordinary routines, obligations, and distractions of daily life. What the author Virginia Woolf called “A Room of One’s Own.” "
Response- I definitely agree with this quote based on my own experience. They are times in my artistic journey where I find it difficult to come up with new and original ideas or even let my guard down to start creating something. This is because of my expectations of the results or my environment wasn't a suitable environment. Granted, as an artist when you have the edge to create, you just will. But usually I've noticed, if you are not in an environment that feels safe, or has restrictions for your comfortability.. creativity doesn't always flow easily. making sure that your mental space is clear and not cluttered and that your physical space inspires whatever you are intending to make allows your creativity to flow at it's best.
Q3- "Once you’ve made a habit of showing up for your creative work, don’t expect to make masterpieces. ... In order for our creativity to progress, we need to allow ourselves the freedom to make fools of ourselves. " I believe that the creative process shouldn't be dependent on the final product. When artist focus to much on a certain outcome of their work sometime it takes away from great discoveries that come from making mistakes. When we embrace foolery and mishaps and mistakes in our creative process, letting loose in the way creates more freedom in our journeys which helps with your final product in the end.
