Chapter 5
"You must be the change you want to see"
- I actually live by this quote and used it as my campaign slogan for the student activity boards project manager role I am now currently in.
"What's the point of the exercise? To get people thinking about thinking.
-very powerful and deep in layers for understanding. It also goes into a philosophical way of thinking about knowing where our thoughts are derived from and the reason for those and what are some things that we are not thinking about.
"In order for us, as artistic activists, to employ facts in effective ways, it will be useful for us to have at least a basic understanding of how our minds work."
- This is why people study communication and psychology when trying to venture into marketing or promoting.
Chapter 6
"Why would anyone buy a product they've never heard of?
-Shows why visibility is very important, especially in activism. Keeping the message very fresh and repetitive in people's minds and ears to keep awareness.
"Mapping the benefits and costs of the course of action we want to promote allows us to hone our message and create a range of pieces to emphasize different points."
This action acts as a why and a reminder for the purpose/goal and can give us or provoke beneficial ideas etc
As artistic activists, we need to always think of our audience.
Our audience is our target market every artist in general should know the importance of an audience as its a large sum of people that you'd want to project your art towards.
