Chapter 2
"Physical and mental space is key for creativity. A space away from the ordinary routines, obligations, and distractions of daily life." Page 52
I choose this quote because I think mostly everybody needs their own personal space to help them to stay focus and let their brain function properly. I've faced this problem till this day because I live with a spanish family household and there are bunch of loud conversations in the background that I can't focus on my own work. If there are too many distractions in the background, the person's mind won't function right. Discovering your own creative space will take time and a lot of trial and error.
"We are often our own worst enemies when it comes to being creative." Page 58
We can be our own enemy when it comes to being creative. The reason is because we can be too critical of own work, we can overthink what it is we are doing and we worry about potential ridicule. It's important for us to silence our inner circle and ignore the critics out there in the world.
"Research can draw you in like a warm blanket. It's a cozy place."
Research offers many benefits for students and other people. It fosters our critical thinking and analytical skills through hands on learning. In addition, it defines academic, career and personal interests. It expands our knowledge and understanding of a chosen field outside of the school. Research can also provide a path of prosperity and progress as well.
