Kiara Holmes, Chapter 2: Process Quotes

"We are often our own worst enemies when it comes to being creative." pg. 58

When I read this quote I felt like it was made for me to read it. I often say that I'm not creative, and when I have to be creative I criticize my creativity. In reality, everyone is creative, there; 's no right or wrong to being creative.

"We need distance from our ideas before we can truly understand them, and getting them out of our head and into a rough visual form allows us to step back and truly see them for what they are." pg. 64

This quote caught my attention because I never thought about executing ideas this way. Whenever I have an idea or thought in mind I never write it down, it's always just in my head. This quote made me think about how maybe if I start writing things now they won't just be a thought and I can actually bring them to life.

"Here’s another way to consider this problem of perfection. It prevents us from experimenting, taking chances, taking breaks, failing, or, tragically, ever beginning." pg. 80

This quote is literally me. I have the need for everything to be perfect, so it stops me from experiencing new things and taking risks.
