Quote 1 from page 20. Then suddenly he snatched me up, broke a board from our screen door, and began to beat me with it, telling me 'You're just a little girl. the father in this part uses a way of anger but I don't agree with that because he thinks supports or protects the girl but anger can lead to separation of the family.
quote 2 from page 23, fatherly thinking constitutes the values of our culture. I think this a mistake because our society now has its culture that differs from one country to another, and this is a very strict nature for the father dealing with the family under the understanding of fatherhood.
2. How Memes Are Making Protest Art More Powerful.
quote 1 But with Farage’s back turned, Dance, sitting just a few rows back, revealed a crude handwritten sign to his audience; it read, in all caps, “he’s lying to you,” with an arrow pointing to Farage. Perhaps unwittingly, the frustrated MEP was tapping into a basic tactic of protest art: the manipulation of text and image to undermine the original intent of a given message.
the use of memes Dance for Farage is used because of Farage's anger when he said that travel to Muslims should be banned as a defeat for terrorism, so Dance used a sign that says is lying to you, and although it is a funny and humorous pity that it turned the parliamentary Union and used it in a funny way that indicates his intelligence in using the art of protest from what Farage said.
quote 2 Artist duo Peter Kennard and Cat Phillipps (kennardphillipps) immediately recognized the photograph’s potential as a tool in dismantling the propaganda machine surrounding the Iraq war.
In this picture, there is evidence that the war destroys all
things and turns them from a wonderful image to a defame image, as the war in
the past and present leads to the presence of many victims, including children
who have no guilt in the problems of the world, lead to the destruction of a
whole country. The Iraq war was fought in two stages, in the first phase, a
combined force invaded the United States and Great Britain and defeated the
Iraqi military forces, and the second stage, which consisted of an occupation led
by Iraq under the leadership of the United States and caused serious damage to
the structure and property. This freedom remains controversial among
politicians and the general public.
3. Memes Are Our Generation's Protest Art.
quote 1 At their core, all memes, regardless of their politics, are a tool for expression. “Memes help to articulate specific points, amplify ideas, and intensify emotions,” Burroughs said. “Something can be comedic or a joke and still be incredibly poignant.”
The memes of our generation are sarcasm, indignation, laughter, or protesting in funny ways against the problems of society to reach the change required to improve the conditions of society. Now we feel that memes become a new culture of our different cultures because social media is used daily in all things such as our daily life and our educational and health problems or in protesting what we don't like in our country.
quote 2 There’s a whole genre of these activist memes that have emerged and are being used to push for social change and bring things like racism to the forefront using memes, and that’s extremely powerful,” Burroughs said. “They can help bring attention to issues of injustices. They circulate in a way that keeps up with that social media flow of information.”
Activist memes have become a space for battling and resistance. The ability of the meme to empower and push back can be really powerful. They’re definitely sites of resistance against perceptions of abuse of power. They spread so quickly and evolve and transform, and it’s hard to shut them down in the way other forms of communicative protest can be silenced. Memes are our generation’s protest art. They are simple to make and simpler to distribute, they can communicate a stance or message at a glance and express the same feelings experts say are behind conventional protest art.
